What is a high performance butterfly valve?

A high performance butterfly valve is a quarter-turn valve with a double offset (double eccentric) disc and stem design, providing bubble-tight bi-directional sealing and API 609 compliance for demanding oil & gas, water treatment, chemical and power plant services.

What is the difference between double offset and triple offset butterfly valves?

Double offset butterfly valves typically use a resilient or fire-safe seat for general industrial service, while triple offset butterfly valves use a metal-to-metal seal for extreme temperature applications.

Are SHIELD high performance butterfly valves fire-safe?

Yes. SHIELD high performance butterfly valves are available with fire-safe sealing options compliant with industry fire-safe standards, making them suitable for safety-critical applications.

What sizes and pressure ratings are available?

SHIELD high performance butterfly valves are available from DN50 to DN1200 (2 inch to 48 inch) with pressure ratings of PN10 / PN16 / PN25 / Class 150 / Class 300.

Which industries use SHIELD high performance butterfly valves?

SHIELD high performance butterfly valves are widely used in oil & gas, water treatment, chemical processing and power plants.
